Uncertain Weather is a culminating film for ODC’s dance performance class Step On Screen. Under the direction of ODC School Director and Associate Choreographer Kimi Okada, as well as Kristin Damrow and Lindsay Leonard, the young students (ages 8-18) have adapted this formerly live performance piece into a short film based on the effects of climate change and extreme weather conditions. With appearances by ODC teen companies Seeds and the Dance Jam, Uncertain Weather (2021) features compelling and unexpected visual design for camera, animations, and original soundscape and music.
At times foreboding, at times surreal and whimsical, we take a journey through landscapes of garbage, rising ocean waters, shrinking land mass, parched earth, fire, wind, and blackouts. We also revel in the beauty of the natural world. Join us and be inspired by the ingenuity and spirit that surfaced from a year of sheltering.
