In light of shelter-in place orders across the country, the premiere of House of Names, originally scheduled for April, has been postponed to October 16-18, 2020. Previously purchased tickets will automatically be exchanged. If the new dates work for you, your tickets will be at Will Call for the same day of the run that you originally purchased. If you would prefer to exchange to a different night of the run or receive a full refund, you will be able to do so by contacting the Box Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 415-863-9834.
Alternatively, if you are unable to come to any of the new dates, you can also donate the price of your ticket back to the artists.
House of Names is an evening of dance about women, myth and power. The performance includes pieces about Cassandra, who always told the truth, but was never believed; La Llorona, a woman who turned against herself; and other stories from around the world... women whose power we return to them. Original music by Carla Lucero and Ben Juodvalkis.
Marika Brussel is a contemporary ballet choreographer who tells powerful stories about our increasingly complicated world. Amy Foley is the director of Bellwether Dance Project. Her work delves into the myriad ways individuals make meaning in their lives.
These performances of House of Names were made possible in part by the Fleishhacker Opportunity Fund at ODC.
