Join Rena Marie for an opportunity to step on stage and dance fully and expressively in this Street Jazz workshop. Drawing on Rena’s training in Jazz and hip hop, you will experience a rich warm up aimed at strengthening your core and legs, to support strong expansive movement. You will have the opportunity to dance big, with grace, as well as, power.
Rena Marie has been an actor and dancer for over 25 years, in both Los Angeles and the Bay Area. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, salsa, liturgical, and Samba. She has done music videos, commercials, and films, has performed in self-produced dance theater productions, and been a part of several theatre ensembles. She has also been a guest performer for both Sambaxe, and the Latin Dance Grooves ensemble. Rena Marie has led high-energy, packed classes with Rhythm & Motion since 2011. She is also a trained Drama Therapist, with a MA in counseling psychology. She uses this training in her artistic work with youth and adults. Rena Marie believes the arts are inherently therapeutic, and can be used to bring about healing and wellness.
