Audition Series with Sarah Bush Dance Project

Audition Series with Sarah Bush Dance Project

Sunday, May 6
2 -
4PM

The ODC School Audition Series brings dancers and choreographers together in a class context. Dancers may use class cards or pay a $15 drop in fee. Come early to fill out information forms.

Sarah Bush Dance Project (SBDP) is looking for 2 female-identified contemporary dancers to complete the cast for our fall 2018 show Spirit and Bones. SBDP is looking for dancers with a high level of modern/contemporary dance training, strong performance abilities, confident partnering skills, the desire to learn existing choreography, as well as contribute to the creative process. This is an intergenerational project created in collaboration with a live band, so dancers must be comfortable working multi-generationally and across disciplines. Dancers are asked to come prepared with a short 15-30 second non-traveling solo of their most unique, magical, physical, jaw-dropping, action-packed moves -- imagine your life aspirations sped up and packed into a very short solo in a center special on a grand stage!

Dancers must be available October 22-28 for SF performances and tech. There will also be additional performance opportunities throughout the season. Rehearsals and performances are paid a monthly stipend.

Rehearsals will be on Mondays in Berkeley, with some flexibility depending on dancer's schedules.

SBDP deeply values diversity and strives to create a safe, supportive space to empower all women. Queer women and women of color are kindly encouraged to attend.

Dancers are asked to arrive early to fill out the audition form, attaching a resume/photo is optional.  Please come warm and ready to dance!
